Galvanizing at Galvan Industries

I called today about having the trailer re galvanized piece by piece. They don't do that. Or you could, but it would be very expensive. They have a $250 minimum. Will have to do it all at one time.

Springs Arrived and Surge Assembly

UPS delivered the springs and some of the shackles ordered from ABC Trailers Parts in Alabama. The parts were well packed in double thick cardboard boxes. But a hole was punched in the side of one box and the box of shackles and bolts probably fell out.

Removed the brake surge/ towing assembly today. I had hoped to rebuild the surge assembly but it was not to be. One of the large pins that limit the movement of the drawbar inside the hitch was not able to be removed due to rusting of the shock absorber/spring assembly having rusted to it.

I will have the drawbar welded to the outer case. Then I will have the whole assembly galvanized. I don't think I have to have trailer brakes right now.

The project continues! More pictures.

Clean up November 17,2007

Paul and I made a trip to clean up the boat over the weekend of November 17-18,2007. Only one before and after picture of the sink area. The rest of the pictures show the cleanup of the ceilings and interior of the boat. This the link to the pictures.

The Beginning

Carpe Pacem began life as the winning of an Ebay auction. The first part of the cliche "The two happiest days of a boat owners life are the day s/he buys the boat and the day s/he sells the boat"
